Introducing Our New Webinar Series
Many of our members who attended the conference remarked that there were so many exciting presentations being conducted concurrently that they were not able to hear them all; or they wished other family members or support staff who were not able to attend could get the information they need directly from the presenter. Still others remarked they were unable to attend the conference and were disappointed that they would have to wait another 2 years to get the information they so desperately need.
As part of our ongoing mission of providing support to families and professionals supporting individuals with PWS, PWSA (USA) is proud to announce a new Webinar Series that will commence this month. This series will focus on several of the many wonderful presentations that were featured at the PWSA (USA) National Conference in November, 2015, as well as new upcoming issues not presented at conference. You can expect Dr. Elizabeth Roof to share her conference presentation Prader-Willi Syndrome: Adulthood 101. Barb Dorn and Kate Beaver will present a new session based on their recent publication Transition Planning and Resource Guide for Parents and Guardians of Young Adults (ages 15 and up) with Prader-Willi Syndrome.
The first webinar will be broadcast on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, 7:00 p.m., EST. It is Dr. Dan Beaver’s conference presentation Advocating for the Person with PWS in the Emergency Room. The webinar will be recorded and everyone who registers will receive the link to the recording within 24 hours of the live event. You must register in advance to be able to view the recording later.
Registration is a two-step process. First you log in to the Event Brite site to pay the nominal fee of $20 for nonmembers and $10 for members. When you receive your confirmation of payment email, there will be a link for you to register at the GoToWebinar site. YOU MUST COMPLETE BOTH STEPS! If you are using a Smartphone or Tablet to register, you will need to download the GoToWebinar app first.
